Studio of Secrets in collaboration with The Stencil Lab are thrilled to present this Needles 102: Techniques For Decorative Needle Play class presented by one of Melbourne's most infamous and well-respected needle tops - Paradax.

This three hour class will start with a short demonstration of stencil application, before Paradax walks you through some of the technicalities of working with multiple pick ups, and needle weaving. A large portion of the workshop will be dedicated to practice, with guided practical instruction from Paradax to help you improve your accuracy, and gain your confidence working with decorative needles.

The is no need to partake in the practical elements - you are welcome to simply watch and learn. Those wanting to participate are encouraged to either come as a pair, or have an interest in self-needling. Stencils of various degrees of difficulty will be available for you to use on the day with compliments from The Stencil Lab.

We recommend that all participants looking to attend this class have knowledge of set-up, skin cleaning and preparation for needle play, and knowledge of basic needle play. All of this will be covered in the May 10th class ‘Needle Play 101 – The Ins and Outs’ so we encourage you to come along to that if you're wanting to learn the basics or freshen up on your skills.

All needles and stencils required for this class will be provided, and we will also have some Starter Packs available if you'd like to purchase one on the day.

For this class you will need to BYO:

• blueys/towels

• skin prep wipes or alcohol spray/Chlorhex

• skin! (self-stabbing is fine, or grab a ticket for a play partner)

About Your Presenter:

Paradax is a needle play enthusiast from Melbourne, Australia, specialising in decorative needles and stencil work. Her love for needle play began in 2017, with the past 12 months being instrumental in her focus on precise sharps play. Together with her partner, she began The Stencil Lab at the end of 2024, with the intent of sharing unique designs and sparking excitement amongst the needle play community. Paradax has experience teaching sharps within her local community, and in online forums - centered by her desire to inspire confidence in the wider sharps community.
